Who Would Miss Your Pharmacy?

Would anyone miss you if your pharmacy shut its doors tomorrow? We’ve seen it happen before. One day a pharmacy is going about business as usual, and the next, their phone line is a simple message directing patients to the chain store that their prescription business has been sold to.

going_out_of_businessWould anyone miss you if your pharmacy shut its doors tomorrow?  We’ve seen it happen before.  One day a pharmacy is going about business as usual, and the next, their phone line is a simple message directing patients to the chain store that their prescription business has been sold to.

But this isn’t about those independent pharmacies who are no longer in business.  It’s about all of those that still are.  And whether or not you’ve considered shutting the doors of your pharmacy permanently, you should always ask yourself what impact it would have if you were suddenly no longer in business. If the answer is that you don’t know, or that you don’t think you’re customers would give your pharmacy’s absence a second thought, you have some work to do.

Your pharmacy should be an indispensable part of your patient’s healthcare team.  There should be a distinct difference between your pharmacy and any other.  It’s not an easy road to get there, but having the right partners in your pharmacy business can help.   Your pharmacy may be an independent business, but you certainly don’t have to go it alone.

At RMS, our goal is to make our pharmacy clients the most profitable and customer centric in the industry.  If we can achieve our goals, we think you’ll be well on your way to achieving yours.
